Since the beginning of life on Earth, the climate has always been changing and the temperature fluctuating. However, this fluctuation has occurred slowly throughout hundreds and thousands of years. In contrast, global warming in the last few decades has increased at a much faster rate as it is human-influenced.

Climate change poses a threat to all life on planet Earth. The continual emission of greenhouse gases by human beings is directly contributing to its devastating effects such as more frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, and warming oceans which impact wildlife and human life alike. A novel approach is needed if we are to mitigate the effects of this disastrous phenomenon and continue to thrive in our home world as a species. An approach that focuses on the incorporation and preservation of green landscapes, promotes its growth, and aims for reliance on renewable energy resources, rather than oil & gas which directly harms the environment, and exacerbates the effects of climate change.

Nowadays, innovative solutions are implemented in countries to decrease emissions. Have you heard of drones that plant trees? It is well known that trees help store greenhouse emissions. However, the number of planted trees is not enough. Drones today are being used to scatter tree seeds throughout severely damaged forests. There are two types of drones. First, mapping drones are used to discover the most efficient planting plan for a region, then planting drones fly around two meters above the ground and shoot seeds at a high speed that makes them strongly implanted into the soil.

Do you wonder how can methane gas be spotted despite it being invisible and odorless? For years, pipes in factories have been leaking for long times before being discovered. Today these methane leaks can be spotted by satellites equipped with thermal imaging. It is estimated that they can help reduce methane emissions by 50%.

The world now more than ever needs more innovations to save it. Join the 3rd edition of our “Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (CCES)” international conference, in collaboration with Chongqing University, China. And get the chance to contribute and make a significant impact. The conference is a chance for scientists and researchers from around the globe to excavate solutions. IEREK welcomes participants with various scientific backgrounds and offers the opportunity to publish in the Scopus-indexed ASTI Book series by Springer.

Scope

The 3rd edition of the “Climate Change & Environmental Sustainability (CCES)” conference extensively explores the phenomenon of climate change. CCES comprehensively covers the phenomenon by addressing topics such as sustainable construction, transit systems, and urban planning, as well as climate change mitigation techniques in cities, and climate adaptation methods. While the aforementioned topics mainly deal with solving the oncoming issue of climate change and adapting current systems to face the threat, CCES additionally envelops topics that wish to refine measurement techniques regarding our climate, and urban morphology and their impacts on both Earth and society.

Statement of Purpose

Anthropogenic influence on Earth’s climate was first observed as early as the comeuppance of the industrial revolution. Ever since, mankind has continued forward on its path of technological advancement and evolution, whilst simultaneously ignoring the devastating environmental effects. CCES aims to shed the spotlight on novel sustainability practices that encourage the world to utilize environmentally responsible practices, for the betterment of our planet. Furthermore, it looks to enliven governmental advocacy for climate adaptation and mitigation, through policies and practices, while additionally assessing the impacts of climate change on an economic, ecological, and urban scale.
